I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you for the information of the Secretary of State that the Anglo-Persian Oil Company wish to erect a fuel oil bunkering installation at Hong Kong. Such an installation would be of considerable service to H.M. Navy and. My Lords desire to assist the Company as far as possible.

In this connection I am to point out that the Company consider the site recently held by the Admiralty at Kowloon as an additional coaling depot shown in dotted red

The Commander in

line on attached plan would be suitable. Chief of the China Squadron was requested by telegram on the 15th instant to terminate Admiralty tenancy of this land by giving the requisite one month's notice to the Colonial

Government.

I am to state that My Lords would greatly appreciate any assistance that could be rendered to the

Company in this matter.
